PLACEBO appear alongside Ewan McGregor in a the film shot in London.
Titled Velvet Goldmine, it's about the 'rise, fall and rebirth' of
glam-rock. Brian and Steve will appear as members of a fictional glam-rock band called the
'The Flaming Creatures', while Stefan stars alongside Elastica bassist Donna Matthews in
another fictional glam band. Michael Stipe is putting together the soundtrack which
features Placebo covering Marc Bolan's '20th Century Boy'. The film, directed by Todd
Haines. Molko himself has appeared on MTV
stating his favourite quote from The Velvet Goldmine:
